neutral safety switch 1998 cherokee

ok so my neutral safety switch in my jeep is shot. i cant start the thing at all. i use to be able to start it by rocking the shifter back and forth with the key turned all the way and it would fire right up. but now i cant even do that?

so can i clean it ? or is there a way to hot wire it so it can start in anygear? or a way to fix it..

also would a 1995 cherokee switch work?

thanks mike

Use the SEARCH function; there's a bunch of threads on rebuilding it / replacing it.
