Need some opinions

ok so im driving home today in 5th gear on the highway, all of a sudden i hear a knocking sound, so i slowd down and it was getting quiter, shift into 4th gear its gone. ok that was wierd shift back to 5th real loud knock knock knock. Mind you i was doign a constant speed when it started. so i came to a stop sign it was gone, speed up it does it again, whenever i shift to 5th the knock comes....now the knock comes all the time. THe only time i dont get the knock is if im drivign in 4 wheel drive.

with the jeep not moving when i rev the engine (tranny in Neutral) i hear the knock. i cant figure out where in the driveline it is coming from. any ideas??

o yea, its not the engine i check that its somewhere in the driveline and all the sh!t that moves with it....

Thats a weird one. I'm gonna put my money on the driveshaft. You have a pretty tall lift, do you have a SYE? If not the slip yoke might be flopping around because it's barely engaged. Have you checked the u-joints?
