Need some exhaust oppinions!!!
Ok I'm looking at buying this exhaust from iron rock off road...here's the link I want to know what you guys think first about the system..looks good to me(its a low cost magnaflow)
The question is what muffler to buy with it.... Listen to sound clips for each of them. I personally like the way the baffled muffler sounds when just idling, but the flo-pro seems better when its driving away. Also do you think you will get better performance gains from the flo-pro...I know that there of not great gains but between the baffled muffler and straight through flo-pro muffler.

first off, chill. After only an hour you shouldn't complain about no response. Second off, both sound okay but they're still budget mufflers imo. Call up IRO and ask them to substitute a flowmaster 40 in for the exhaust with that package. You will be a fair amount happier the fm has a nice deep tone, search flowmaster 40 jeep on youtube and find one with a 4.0. You can add on a magnaflow high flow cat which will make things alot better and get a new cat

I already have a magnaflow cat..that i bough a couple weeks ago. didn't install yet because i hate to look at my rusty exhaust with holes in it, next to shinny cat. Also, because when my parents see a high cost they say no i have started buying pieces at a time. I have heard great things about Flo master mufflers but, i don't really have the money for it...it will probably raise the price a good 50$(and i really don't want to spend an extra 50 for minimal difference) Which i know because the Flo master super 40 is an option for the grand Cherokee exhaust. on YouTube it almost sounds like the baffled muffler but loader. |

I spent $60 for exactly what is offered in that kit. I would not get it just because of the price, and custom systems sound better anyway. I went 2 1/4 to keep some torque lower in the power band.

Here's my opinion. Nobody on JF is going to be driving your jeep, so get what sounds best to you my friend. Just because every one likes one doesnt mean you will. Do your own thing to get what you like.
Mainly, Im raising my post count. |

Where did you get the parts for it then..the tail pipe and stuff. I don't have the tools to bend my own tubes. I'm mostly asking for opinions because i think that the baffled sounds good when stopped and the Flo pro sounds better when driving away... so i am split between the 2. Why pick one and be unhappy and not ask what others think about each of them...that to me is stupid. I liked this kit because brand name exhaust kits are the same thing but $400... |

Alright "cherokee-at-16".
Relax dude. Everyone hates the dude that bumps his own thread within the hour so that everybody on jf can give an expert opinions about what muffler to get. Calm down, and you'll be fine on here. Be patient! That being said, I received my Iron rock exhaust today. I bought the baffled setup, and this is to replace my flowmaster 40 that was the wrong inlet/outlet, and installed with only a turn down. But somehow, the tail pipe shipping got pushed back 1 day, so I have the muffler, but no pipe. I will install it tomorrow. I'll let you know how it sounds. From the videos, the flo-pro sounds like a typical glass pack, sorta mellow, and kinda high pitched. I like the baffled better.

well I have had a flowmaster 40 muffler on my heep for about 4 years now and at first I loved the sound but now i am beginning to hate it cause of how loud it is in the cab. i am atcually thinking of going back to a stock muffler or find one that is not as loud
