Need helpful info on replacing power steering pump and hose??Anyone done it?

It appears that my power steering pump is leaking, and the hose is also. Has anyone done this? I am confident I can get the pump off but kinda worried about switching the pulley to new pump measuring it out right like it says in the manual. Any advice on this? Also the hose has those metal fittings on each end do they just screw off the pump? Any help is appreaciated thanks.

It's actually a helluva lot easier than you think. Make sure you get the right pump for your engine and you should be fine. After you remove the old pump and put the new one inplace, look straight down the path of your belt to make sure it lines up and it's pretty obvious. The important thing to remember is once you've reconnected the hoses, fill the P/S pump resivoir then with the engine running turn the wheels to full lock both ways a couple of times with the cap on. This will get any of the air out of the lines that you have introduces while screwing with the system. Refill as needed. Then, check the fill level after a few miles of driving.

Good luck!

Use a puller to remove the pulley. The new pump should come with a "install tool"--a bolt, nut & washer. Never had a problem with pulley alignment when using the tool. Seems like I change pumps about once a year. JIM.

The new hose will have the fitting already on it. Also easy. Good luck.
