Need advice on replacing A/C Compressor
I had my AC charged, only to find out the compressor is kaput. I've seen some listed on ebay and parts stores, generally starting around 250 and going up to 500. I have no problem buying remanufactured w warranty. Seeing brands called Replacement, Factory aire, Ready Aire, and others.
Any success or horror stories on buying these things? Recommendations? Any experience with Jeepair.com? They seem to have the best pricing - rebuilt for under 200, new for under 300 for the record, I have a 97 Cherokee Sport, 4.0 ltr engine. Compressor in there now is a sanden 4691

If I were planning on replacing my compressor, I would choose an OEM type, either new or reman.
OEM for later XJ's is a Sanden. Choosing another brand other than Sanden may (or may not) result in fit issues on the existing mounting bracket and hoses.
