Nate's 4x4 front bumper?

i know that this bumper is supposedly a decent one. but i've noticed that the bumper wraps around the side of the XJ. it looks like they have cut the body and fender off. how is this done? and what tools would one need?

look under the tech links.....there is 4 or 5 links there for trimming fenders. also do a search, if you haven't allready done so, you will find quite a bit

It's made to fit post '96 body style. You need a few spare minutes and a SawzAll to "adjust" your '96 to accept it, like we did to my '94:

i bought a 2 nates 4x4 bumpers, and while im not trying to tell you what to buy and what not to, im just giving you a heads up, when i got them the rear one wasnt even close to fitting i had it painted up and everything, so i try and call up nate, every day after i got out of work ( which is 330pm) i tried calling, supposidly hes open till 5. i left 3 messages and no one would pick up for 2 weeks, so finally i had a guy totally rebuild the damn thing and i had it painted again. yeah maybe i should have retrofitted it. but i guess i learned my lesson if i build a jeep in the future im not going to go with him.
and a buddy of mine had the same thing happen with his front bumper.

I've been shopping hard for new bumpers. Nates are about the cheapest, but after adding all the options, not really that much less than much more highly regarded brands (like JCR, which is the one I'm leaning towards).

If Marty had a winch bumper left in stock I'd be all over it--RL stuff is top-notch! Their close-out price is a steal for the non-winch bumper.

No issues with my rear bumper from Nates.

x2, I ended up buying a JCR and I am glad I did, I like how it angles up on the ends better that Nates. Also it fit perfect and I got a good deal on it on Ebay. JCR sells some on Ebay and they are a little cheaper on there.
