Is my U-Joint bad?

I just installed my front lunchbox locker in my dana 30 and im hearing a noise going in a strait line. The noise is like a grinding/clicking noise and it only comes at speeds faster than 25. I took off the wheels and noticed there is a little play in the driver side axle u joint. Is this causeing the noise i am hearing? Thanks.

The noise was not there before the locker install ? Clicking noises with a lunchbox type locker is not uncommon, but the noise usually is heard when turning when the locker has disengaged.

If there is any play in the front axle u-joints, it will cause the locker to have issues with engaging/disengaging.

fix any U-Joints that have play in them.... especially your driveshafts, those coming loose when you're going 55 is not fun AT ALL
