can you still open the rear doors with those tj flares on??kinda looks like it blocks the rear doors from opening but i think i saw in one of the pics where theres a cut in the flare. . .did you just mount the rear half to the body and the front half to the door??

Yes the doors open, the passenger side just hasn't been cut yet.

Been a little while since I updated this thread and work has progressed slowly, been busy with "stuff".

Last night Daniel and I waged war against the transfercase. I think the tcase won. We had to drop the crossmember so we could lower the tranny to get access to the top nuts. The replacement tcase went in easily enough but I've got to work on the harness to mate the 98 case to the 91 heep. I'd like to get the dash indicators to work with the new case. The linkage is in need of a little adjustment but that won't take too long.....hopefully.

The reason we swapped in the newer case is simple. No tailcone and it already had an SYE (H&T) installed, and I also got a complete Tom Woods driveshaft in the deal.

Since the new case and driveshaft are in I was able to confirm the pinion angle with my calibrated eyeball and permanently weld the anti-wrap (longer than OEM) perches on. A litle rattle can to finish it off and it looks almost presentable.

Picked up a little fab-stock...

...and got busy cutting, fitting, and welding the front bumper. It should be done tomorrow or Sunday.

Unfortunelty the paint is in typical poor condition, but we might tackle that down the road a bit.

The bumper is done...for the most part. No provisions for a fairlead or lights yet. No sense in installing those since winch and aux. lights are not happening anytime soon.
