My o2 sensor wiring got ripped off by the DS. Anyone have a photo of how its routed?
I dont feel like dumping 75 dollars for a new o2 sensor to get this one ripped apart by the driveshaft again, not sure how it ran prior without getting ripped out
So if anyone could give me an idea or 2 or a photo of how its ran stock that would be awesome. Thanks in advance! Sorry forgot to add its the o2 sensor after the cat.

I shot a few pics under my '97 XJ, not the greatest but should give you an idea. There is a plastic bracket on the passenger side tunnel, the harness from the engine compartment runs along the tunnel to this bracket. A "christmas tree" fastener at the connector to the rear O2 sensor locates the harness and connector to the plastic bracket. Most likely your plastic fastener or the plastic bracket broke and allowed the wiring to move over and contact the spinning driveshaft. You can see in the pics I added a couple of zip ties to help keep the wiring up close to the plastic bracket.
BTW unless your upstream O2 sensor is fairly new, I'd suggest you relocate your current upstream sensor to the downstream location and buy a new upstream sensor as opposed to just buying a new downstream sensor. The 2 sensors are physically and electrically identical but the connectors are different and you can't just plug into the harness in the other location. If you move your upstream sensor to the downstream position, you'll have to cut the connector off the old upstream sensor and replace with the one from the old downstream sensor. I mention this because a new upstream sensor will make a bigger difference in the way your 4.0L runs and even with some miles on it, the old upstream sensor will work fine for monitoring cat efficiency if you move it to the downstream location. Hope this helps. Index of /edrico/2009-11-22 XJ Rear O2 sensor -Ed Rico |

Are you referring to the front or rear o2 sensor?

Welcome!
I don't know,... but someone here probably does - you would be better off starting your own thread though, your post would get more traffic that way. Whiskey
