my driveshaft fell out!!!

ok so i had my rear driveshaft fall out on my way to work one day. any suggestions aside from getting a shop to put the driveshaft back? i believe it ran when the driveshaft fell out and still starts if it gets charged ecause i was in the hospital before new years and just got out a couple weeks ago.

Can you not put it back in? Only 4 bolts unless you broke something in the t-case. Also check the fluid level, could have lost the fluid when you dropped the shaft.

Wait it fell all the way out? or did it just fall from the front and still hanging on the rear? If it fell all the way out you might have to go get some u-joint (i think thats the name) clips to hold the rear part of the shaft to the rear axle. Only two clips with 2 bolts each. not a hard thing at all. I recommend buying a service manual. It has pics, fluid levels, etc.

Most likely it was just the bolts on the little straps that hold on the driveshaft. They probably werent tightened down right and backed out due to vibrations. It will be a very easy fix. When it fell out did it sound catastrophic like something else may have failed?

Did it fall out while you where driving? It might have tore up some stuff if it did.
