My 98 XJ build

Well, after months of shopping, trying to find the right one, I have found it. I first had a 97 wrangler that was lifted, and then a 83 Scrambler, And now, its a 98 Cherokee.

This is it as of 3/24/11

This is it in october of 2010 when I first got it.

It has, among other things, 101,000 miles, its a one owner, no accidents.

-4.0
-AW4 tranny
-Command-Trac transfer case
-Chrysler 8.25 Rear end
-Dana 30 front end
-I believe 3.55 gearing
-Transmission cooler

Thats how I bought it.

The plans are as follows:

-Iron Rock 6.5 lift
-BFG 33x12.50 MT KM2's
-Aussi Locker up front
-Bumpers up front, out back
-Winch
-Roof rack with lights
-Optima battery
-Re-Tint windows
-New sound system
-Snorkel
-Frame stiffeners

In the long run:

-Cummins 4BT (yeah I know, flame on)
-Dana 60/60 front/back
-Exo/Hybrid cage
-37 inch tires
-Other Goodies

I ordered the Iron Rock lift kit with adjustable control arms, jks quicker discos, Hackntap Sye, Doetch shocks. It should be here thursday!! It cost a total of $2,122

I also ordered the 5 KM2s from Tire Rack. Shipped to my house they cost a total of $1,062. Thats the best price I found lol

Everything should be here this week. I will start the process of lifting it on wednesday or tuesday night I believe of next week

Im so excited haha

Looks great! Have more pics?

A good tip for those fading fenders would be to hit it with some bed-liner.
check out my build to see how great it looks with a black finish.

Ha no I'm going to snap some pics of it before I lift it.

Yea I know I need to do something about it. I have a can of bed liner that I want to spray it with

careful with that stuff, the spray will catch the wind and get everywhere.

Have fun! it's a b**** to mask off everything, especially the fenders.

one more thing, your jeep will look better if you get more black parts on it. It's just my opinion but just straight up red all over the body looks a bit strange.

went from

to this (painted near the roof rack rails and below the windshield)

makes a big difference in looks when you give the paint some black parts to it.

Ha ha Yes I'm already considering ways to make that happen. Today I was with my friend on a woods trail hiking that we go on a lot, and it goes by a junk yard.

Well, long story short, I found a 45x50 inch surco roof rack on the back of a sidekick lol.

So i took it off, and used ubolts to mount it to my roof rack until I get around to buying rain gutter mounts.

for a total of 10 bucks, I'd say I scored

33s huh? Is regear on the list or are you going to 'rock the stock' for a while?

Cummins and D60s front and rear? No shame in that! I get tired of reading the same build thread over and over again anyway lol

thanks! Ya I'm getting anxious. I'm looking at benders and notchers. I've heard JD2 is a good brand for the money? I won't be putting on the exo cage for a little, but no harm in preparing for it, gathering the tools.
