It's not custom length. XJ's can use the front driveshaft in the rear as a CV shaft. Broncofire just did it with no problems, and I'll be doing it soon as well.

If you have any kind of lift it is a custom length. Just because the shaft fits does not mean it is the right length unless of course the vehicles is only driven to the mall then it doesn't matter that much.

Well mine works just good and fine.

I finally got my AFE Stage 2 intake in the mail after ordering it at the 4wheelparts show 2 weeks ago. Got a killer deal $140 shipped!

But I'm uploading pics of the install. Got a little whistle but only when shifting at higher RPMs. I like it so far. Seems to work well with my bored TB and spacer. Exhaust is probably tomorrow. Going with A single chamber Flowmaster. I reckon the same thing as a 40.

That looks great man, but I'd definitely be worried about it sucking up some water. We had rain from hurricane Hanna today and my battery actually shorted out when some water got under the hood. Took at least 20 minutes before the Jeep would even turn over again. Just be careful of water getting over and into the hood near the filter. You might even put some weather seal near it where the hood closes.

Yeah I thought about it.

I had to remove the 1" TBS. It bent my damn hood when I shut it after I installed the intake. Just noticed it today. Pissed me off pretty good but its out and nothing changed.

I got a Warn Trans4mer grille guard and winch carrier for $200 today from a buddy. Looks good and is made out of 1/4" and 3/16". It mounts to the frame several places and looks beefy as heck. I'm going to try to put it on tomorrow. Aint got a clue how it mounts but I got the bolts and I'll go from there LOL.

LOL thats how it goes. Now you gotta start from way back when find the pics and start typing.

Uploading pics of the Warn Trans4mer. It mounted really good and painted it with Rustoleum's Textured black. It sticks really good and dont look bad at all with all the Krylon I've got. Have to re-paint the bumper now.

So today I accomplished:

1. Washed bolts and mounting hardware(rusty and muddy)
2. Painted the grille guard/ winch reciever
3. Took end caps off
4. trimmed the plastic fenderwell stuff
5. Relocated the horns on both sides. Got them outta the way.

Here it is.

Sits close for a winch carrier:

Mounted both horns like this. Just flipped them and pushed up closer the the frame.

Where do those upper mounts go? Looks pretty beefy, but I don't know if I'd trust it on just the stock 3 bumper holes. Maybe invest in some additional mounts (ukraine train from NAXJA) to weld on?

The top mounts go to the 2 bolt holes that are in tension that arent used with the stock bumper. You know how theres that little pinch seam the comes out where the 2 bolts that are used for the stock mounting, well the top and bottom mounts sandwich that seam and clamp relly good.

The top comes over and down and the bottom comes under and up. They are bolted together with the 3 bolt holes in the pic.

Puting it all together wasnt bad at all. Had a buddy or 2 help for a few but nothing I coulnt have handles on my own.

I need to find some decent tow hooks. There are mounts on the winch plate for them and want to get some soon. Anyone got a good place to buy them cheap?

Anyone know the bolt size that mounts the front driveshaft to the output shaft?

Went to the local Tractor Supply Co. They had 1 tow hook so I bought it and some grade 8 1/2" bolts. Not bad for $12.

Helping 06trailrig with his XK at the shop Sunday. Might start cutting metal fo my hitch/bumper build.

Plans are to keep the stock bumper but build the hitch to go against the bottom of the bumper and integrate some 3/4" clevis tabs for D-rings as well.

Basically be like a stock hitch but about 2" higher with D-rings mounted out about the width of the framerail.

Using the nut strips down the "frame" rail and 2 of the bumper mounting holes. 1/4" plate for mounting to "frame" and 3/4" for clevis's, and 2x2x1/4" and maybe some 1/2" gusset. Ill buy the hitch reciever from TSC. $20 bux saves some time.

Anyways, I had this thread moved to Jeep Registry because most are over here and more people look here for build threads.
