Sorry to keep bumping this but if I buy the Hack n Tap from RE does it come with everything I need to get the job done and be able to lift my Jeep another inch without problems?

What year front driveshaft can I use? Any recommendations?

Anywhere to get the H-n-T cheaper than on the RE site?

Probably going to try to get this DS. It will work correct just read the whole SYE thread and I'm going with the HnT and front DS.

Replacing U joints if needed and repainting it calling it a day.

So work or no work?

HnT includes everything needed to install. I got my driveshaft from an 01 Automatic in the attempt to get a low mileage one. Cost me 30 bucks and replaced all of the ujoints, one of which needs redone because it squeeks. Hnt allows you to go bigger lift, but you might need a longer driveshaft. A zj front driveshaft is a little longer if it is needed.

How much lift is OK with the HnT? Only want about 5"ish.


Theres a ZJ front driveshaft on Ebay that seems to be in good shape how much longer are they?

Thats more than enough. I was reading on the RE HnT and people were saying something about an adapter for the DS to mount to the SYE. What part are they talking about?

OOOOhhh forgot about that. Youll need spicer part number 211229x. I got mine from www.shaftmasters.com but there are places where you can find it cheaper.

It allows the driveshaft to be bolted to the HnT. If you notice the Hnt has four holes for bolts, and that spicer adaptor has for bolt holes.

OOOOOH, OK making since now LOL.

How long did it take you since you just did it under the Jeep? Anything I need to look out for? Besides breaking the tap or something stupid like that.

Got some updates.

Painted the grille and head light housing. And finished painting the axles and "frame".

Here's a few pics:









Found this while lifting. The factory tag with serial number and says 8.25 Jeep and 3.55 open case. Pretty neat and shows how good of shape its in.

I have every service record of everything from major tune ups and new brakes all around to just changing the oil.

Also, have the original window sticker and reciept from the dealership. $23,000ish out the door if I remember correctly.

It has been babied all highway miles and 4 wheel drive maybe twice before I got it for icy road driving. Even the transfer case fluid has been changed twice. And thats just out of the few reciepts I looked at.
