My 95 XJ build
well i just graduated high school and i don't really have tons of cash to spend so this build will be a slow one. i got my rig from my grndfather with only
85K miles on it.... yeah a 95 with 85K. However, i'm in Ohio and salt took its toll. so heres what i've done so far. - coated the underside -wall mart light bar One of the fist things was a simple one, - my CB stetup with PA ![]() - and in the end this is what it looks like until i start to tear it apart ![]() - next its an the RC 4.5" lift kit with full pack -quick disco's -new track bar -set of 31" BFG AT's -Front hitch -rear hitch -snorkel -skid plates

WOW... way nicer than mine, congrats on graduating! (I just did too!) I'm so happy, time to start working alot, making money for my jeep and college!
I wouldn't go with the full 4.5" YET or at all, if you don't have much cash, because it'll suck more money than you expect (think DS's, SYE, LA/Adjustable CA's). You can do a DIY/Homebrew/JY lift similar to mine for MUCH cheaper and still get about 3", which can easily accommodate 31's and still look good (and get you moving faster on your other plans). Look on here for 3" lift coils, 3" shocks, and go to your local JY's in search of s10 leaves, and that'll be about good for what ya need (and you can aim as low as $150 if lucky). That was a nice, pretty weld, I expect you practiced on scraps before hand? I need to learn how to weld... maybe I'll pull out my dad's machine right now... Anyways, looks nice and clean, and perfect for a post-high-school student! Oh, and unless you want to rip off that PA the next/first time you wheel, relocate it into the engine compartment!

Actually looks convenient, but it looks like he has an auto, so unless he kicks it off getting in, I doubt it's much of an obstacle...

Nothe CB is no problem when getting out. Really convinient too. As for the front shackles on the brush guard i just had them laying around and threw them on.......not functional other than pulling a lawnmower or a fat kid.... and as for the lift i planned on it i should have like 900$ in like 4 weeks from my job so i will have the lift and other things like a hac n' tap spacers, brake lines, as for the LCA's the kit come with new ones.

you might want to try flipping the radio mounting bracked over, it should center the radio in the dash hole better.

the s subs are Volfenhag 12" with a sony x-plod 1000W amp. Got it all on ebay 90$ for the subs and 100$ for the amp(refurb). The subs i got for a steal though (usually like 200 a piece)...check ebay though the gut i bought em form has a store. i will look for the name. As for the radio it works for now my i asked my dude at a local audio store about it and he says he always has problems with cherokees. all the buttons are easy to get to but the face plate cant come off.( i live in a good area though.... my security system is that i hope eventually people will look at my jeep and go " man i aint messin with that guys rig, he's probably a scary dude"... lol

Aw man, nice build so far! I'm graduating in a few weeks (our school district sucks! we get out late June D=), and I'm going to probably take on a full-time job for the summer working as an order-picker in the warehouse where my dad works (SYSCO food services), and once that money makes its way to my bank account in the first month or so, I'll start re-vamping mine.
your welds look wicked clean, dude! very nice! I need to practice too, luckily my uncle left his welder here =D Good luck with this build, man, and that idea for the diesel pipes sounds awesome. Also, that CB placement looks kinda weird to me, like you'd be catching your foot in the wire for the mic every time you try to get out, but iono =/ |
