My 2000 XJ Build Thread

Thought id start a build thread after getting so many ideas and being inspired by alot of the builds on here

Picked up my first xj after owning a few zj's

The day i got her

Installed some clear marker/corner lights and some new headlights with halo's

Next on my list was the valve cover and Intake

K&N Intake
4.0 Aluminum valve cover

Rustys throttle body spacer

Edge Throttle body

Being i was under the hood alot i bought some Hood Lift supports

B&M Tranny cooler ( will take pic of grill off later, so you can see how its mounted )

Now On to the interior mods

Husky weather mats

Car Audio
- Alpine Head unit
- 5 1/4 Alpine type R Speakers Front doors/rear sound bar
- Alpine type R Tweeters in Front doors
- Factory Infinity Door tweeters ( need paint still )
- 0 Gauge wire
- Old School alpine amp
- 2 10'' Kicker comps in single ported boxes

Scored a wood grain bezel from the JY

Installed 98 5.9 leather shifter knob, Center console lid

Hated my original manual cloth seats and found a good deal on some leather seats
98 5.9 Leather front/rear seat swap

Rears were not too bad, alot of good write ups on here

Finished product after 4 hours on the rear

Fronts were not easy and took about 8 hours total
used the electric seat tracks from the zj, involved some cutting/ welding but overall was worth it

Is the leather shift knob from a grand? I want one but didn't know XJs ever had them.

Hey it's from a grand Cherokee I like how it's more beefier then the stock zj. To install just take your old one off and pound the new one on ( I used a rubber mallet )

Bought some jk fog lights and installed them in my front bumper, Would have looked cleaner with out the screws showing, but will buy some caps to go over them
Also painted light bar, and bumper caps

Some toggle switches for the fog lights and the other 2 are for future installs

aaah S#^T me and a buddy did some light off roading on the island and i hit the water a little too quick and stalled my engine, after a quick turn to the key and no good, i quickly checked the valve cover and it was already milky, and the intake manifold was full of water
hopefully after i pull the plugs and blow the water out and change the oil she will be good to go,

After tonight i would not recomend the K&N intake or the filter sleeve which is suppost to be water proof
bummer

dude that sucks! But in no way is that filter waterproof. Stock air box is more waterproof because the intake is below the filter. If it stalled, then you cranked it again, im seeing some bent rods in your future

DO have to say though, your build is like the ultimate daily driven XJ build. My first Jeep was a 2001 Limited in that same color! Its the Orvis wheels that really did it for me!

FUN FACT, that spot where you put your toggle switches is actually where the glow plug ready light is on the european diesel XJ's!

sweet after fresh plugs, and sucking all the water out she started up and purred like a kitten, gotta do a few oil changes to get the muck out but should be good. Man when the water cam out of the spark plugs it was like a rocket lol, will upload the video later

snorkel is on its way, thought it was 130 but it was 150 shipped :/ not the end of the world and alot cheaper then a rebuild
