My 1999 XJ Jeep Budget Build!!!!

Bought a 1999 Jeep Cherokee earlier this week and would like to make it look sharp!

1999 Cherokee Sport
Black with Black/Grey interior
168k Miles
Automatic

Purchase Price: $2000
Budget to clean up: $1000

Needs:
TPS sensor -$77

Wants:

Window Tinting- Set up an appointment for Tuesday for tinting, never have done it before so he set me up with 27.5 up front and 16% on the backs... should I go darker? I want it to look nice with the black paint... - $170 (got a deal)

Lift - $????

Wheels - old ones gotta go so hopefully I can get something good looking and new tires to go with them $????

Sound System - ?????

Previously saw another 1999 XJ black that looks great, now I don't want to copy his look I'd like to base mine off of his.

Any tips or advice would be great, would love to have multiple thoughts on this thing.

I dont know what your tinting laws are but if it was up to me I would go like 5% in the back side windows and the back window and then maybe a tad lighter for rear seat windows..

Is that roof rack something you added or was it already like that? If its something you put on, then heck leave it on, but you said you wanted multiple thoughts and mine are that I would remove it. But its not my Jeep...I wish it was but its not!

Actually it was on it when I bought it.... I want to take it off but I don't have the key

Locksmith if you want to resell it. I don't know who would buy it though. Otherwise cut it off.

thats a thule rack. on the locker cylinder there's a number that starts with an "N" then 3 digits. go to thuleracks.com and order a replacement key for 5 bucks. cheaper than a locksmith. then go sell it for 100 bucks on criagslist to add to your budget

i work at a thule dealer, usually people with subarus and audis buy those, they look horrid on a jeep though not bad on a wrx waggy though

I'd work on getting your rims and perhaps ATKO's and bubble wrap that beauty. Leave the rack for the winter and see if it is at all useful and if not, spring it. You've got snow season dead ahead so good tread and a complete maintenance program would be in order. Take the winter to research your plans and compile the info and parts to make it a reality. Good buy.

What is the retail value on this rack? Couldn't find any serial number on the the rack.... looked EVERYWHERE!

How much lift do you want, and how big of tires do you want? 3" on 31's is a pretty popular choice I think.

If you're on a budget, start off by finding some used wheels and tires in decent condition. You'll get a screaming deal

Been watching craigs.... but yes that combo is what I'm going for.

Does anyone know where I can order clear turn signal covers and side markers like the ones on this jeep? And the orange bulb?
