More of a Loud

I have a super 40 series muffler and a stainless steel exhaust tip, and it sounds good. I am just curious what else I could add to make my car louder (Not annoying loud, just louder)? And no, I don't want to change mufflers.

It's a 2000 XJ btw.

Besides changing the muffler thats about it.

Maybe a High Flow Cat or Go to the Orignial 40 series *it is actually louder then the Super 40*

Other wise you are looking at Headers or bigger pipe.

I will say it again. The Original 40 series is the loudest flowmaster muffler.

WRONG

the Super 44 is there loudest muffler, good guess tho

and besides changing the muffler, go to a larger dia. pipe, and taking the cat out will make it louder and deeper....

It's a slant six it's never going to sound good if you get it too loud. Keep it nice and throaty. Straight pipes on a six cylinder is just going to sound like your trying to skin a live cat with a fork. It might sound decent at an idle but whenever you get on it, .

Did I mention I hate loud cars. Being a TJ owner as well, and spending most of my days with no top or doors, I'd say I can attribute some of my hearing lose to dumb rednecks with jacked up fords, straight pipes, and glaspacks. I know you said you don't want it too loud, just wanted to make a point. I personally think the low throaty pipes sound pretty good on the H.O. Maybe a larger exhaust pipe.

Also I've looked pretty good for aftermarket headers and can't find much on the performance gains. I know the stock one has that freakin dent in it that looks like a huge kink for the exhaust flow. Just curious. Thanks.

DING DING DING! You are wrong.. Haha..

The Original 40 is a Single chamber muffler while the Super 44 is a dual chamber.

Yes Flowmaster "Says" the sound is more aggressive but does NOT say it is louder.

If you look at the specs of the two Mufflers they are the exact same size. Body length width and everything.

But a one chamber is going to be louder then a two chamber..

So tell me.. What do I win?

The Super 44 is obviously the new series of Flowmaster. They came out with it to get rid of the Original 40 series.

Im sticking by my statement. The OG 40 is the loudest.. haha

hmm....lets see....

you are wrong, the flowmaster 40 series is a loud muffler, ill give you that...but, it is not as loud as the 44. trust me, i have had friends with them on their jeeps. and they are quiet compared to a 44. I have duals, and that helps a little bit. but how come all of my friends wanna change to the 44 now? even my bro wants to change over to it.

also, the mufflers are not the same size...why dont you do some research before you post...

so, you win nothing, considering people who are wrong dont usually win stuff...

i donno where you got that...but, i defiantly think that the original 40 series will stay around. they wont be getting rid of the design any time soon...
