Measures 6 inches, doesn't look like 6 inches...
Well, taking a look at my suspension due to the possibility of going a little higher, I decided to measure everything to determine exactly what sort of lift I am sitting at.
Using the fender to hub method (stock 17.5" center hub to flare, 17" rear), and using the OEM measurements found here: http://www.mike-g.net/jeep/yinyang/tech/rideheight/ I measure mine out exactly to: 23" hub to flare (so 6" over stock of 17") 12" front and rear (axle tube to body according to website) (stock is 6", so again confirmed 6" lift) This means that I am sitting on a 6" lift front and rear..... right? Now, my Jeep has a racked look to it, and measuring the roofline, it is definitely taller in the rear. Suspension measurements show my Jeep to be sitting 'technically' level though. Any input? Also, why does a "6 inch lift" look SUBSTANTIALLY taller than mine??? Here is my suspension: Front: 3.5" coils, 2" spacer, .5"isolator Rear" 3.5" packs, 2" shackle, AAL (not sure on measurement) 31" tires. Pics: ![]() ![]() What gives?!?! Are you guys actually getting a lot more lift out of your kits than advertised or something? I'm confused.

Id say its a 4.5 inch lift and 31's
If you look at the distance between the top of the tires to the bottom of the flare it looks the same as mine. ![]() ![]() |

What is Rusty's 5.5" HD lift? Looking at your specs and Arcticcats specs I am guessing your XJ's are about the same. Arcticcat's running Rusty's 3" with spacers and shackles which would probably give him close to 5.5" (guessing cause that's what I have and 5.5" is what I have). Your Jeep looks very close to mine height wise and I'm at 5.5" as well with 31's.
Your not measuring wrong... It's the tires. Most people have at least 33's and some 35's on that much lift and thats probably why their Jeep looks alot bigger even with the same amount of lift. I get a weird complex when I look at a XJ with less lift but larger tires, and it looks way bigger than mine . I think 31 or 32's fit better and no trimming but just don't do the lift any justice.Awesome Jeep and sweat pics by the way!

other 6" lifts look bigger because they are on rigs with trimmed fenders and larger tires. Trim those fenders and run a 33/35" tire and it will look huge.
