look what I found

Hey, look what I found for 300 dollars................

Those are the decent pics I have right now, I will get more tomorrow. It has either a 8.25 or (crossing fingers) a D44, not sure right now but I know it DOESN'T have a D35. I figure when I lock the rear if it is the 8.25 I will replace the axle shafts with the ZJ axle shafts and gain a little bit more strength of it is the 8.25. Hopefully I will have a little lift and some tires on it in the next couple of weeks, the major build up is going to be a few months down the road.

Is it gonna be a trail rig or a daily driver?

not really sure as of now, I will figure it out in the next couple of days. First focus is going to be cleaning it up and deciding wether to get a cheap Maaco paint job or spraypainting it OD green. Thankfully the body is perfect except the paint (the fender is straight, really) so there won't be any bodywork to do and my dad is a machinist so he is going to machine a BB so I can fit some 31's on till I decide more of what I want to do.

Is the rear axle flat on the bottom? If so then you've got yourself a 8.25.

As far a paint goes... I just picked up some plasti-kote gun-metal paint. It is the coolest color I've come accross... I am going around painting everything I can think to paint... I just paint the neck on one of my hammers this morning. I plan on painting my wheels in the next few weeks. It would look awesome to paint an entire jeep that color.

If it had a D35, it would have made a great daily driver. But if it's got a D44 or........hehe............a D60 Then it looks like it's gonna make a fine trail rig

8.25 in the rear, and even if it does end up being my DD I will definitely wheel it and will build it accordingly. scary thing is that these XJ's don't have any cages. I am thinking of an NHRA 10 point that I can get installed for less then $500 from a quality shop, how well do these things handle a roll over? If I put it in I am going to lose the back seat option and that would hamper trips to the snow with the family.

If you look at the throttle body, it looks like a pre '91 (Renix TB)

That's what I was thinking, but wanted to make sure.

Sinse it's a pre 91 then it won't have a 8.25 rear axle, it would be a non-C-clipped D35.
