Got a tennis ball? http://www.jeepforum.com/forum/f7/unlocking-car-door-true-370743/

Don't know if that'll work on a XJ

you get a wedge, hard plastic. wedge the top of the door open, and use something metal to slide in and hit the lock rocker switch thing. it sounds brutal, but the aaa guy had todo it that way when i locked my keys in.

The dealer can probably make a key with the vin and proof you own it. I don't know about Jeep but I did this once with a Toyota. It was an '89 and they had no problem making the key.

Take your bill of sale and your vin and they will cut you a key for pretty cheap.

Several years ago I duct taped a spare key to a hidden area outside my jeep in case I lost my keys while hiking or climbing. Never needed to use it. You may think about hiding a spare key for next time.

How do I know you are not trying to steal a jeep?

It is very easy, I can do it in 2ish seconds with a coat hanger or a slim jim of the approiate design.

The Cherokee is one of the most stolen vehicles...it obviously can't be that hard to get into. My dad always used a slim jim and got in fairly quick, and like somebody said the aaa guy will just use the wedge on the top of your door and then try and hit your lock.

Just pop out the back glass in the hatch and slide somebody in through the back. Just have to watch the defrost wires. It actually comes out really easy.
