I have never had rough country but from reading on this forum I understand that most people don't like thr ough country.

You can find out what TC you have by reading the sticky at the top of the page.

The easiest way I tell what dif is in them is the 8.25 is flat at the bottom and the 35 is more rounded.

whats your tcase shift patern
231 = 2hi-4hi (pt)-n-4lo(pt)
242 has full time thrown in there

d35 is an circle http://raingler.com/shop/images/35picL.jpg
while the 8.25 has a flatter bottom and is more of an egg shape

theres nothing wrong with rough country...alot of people bash it cause its not a top of the line brand but i run rough country and ive talked to many other people who also run RC and they too say that ts great i acctually find my RC better then my buddies RE kit which was probly 2x the cost of mine cause is a "big" name kit

Here's the axle pictures:
8.25 is on the left, D35 on right.

If you have 4FT (full time) between 4PT and N on the shifter for the TC then you have the 242 (selectrac).
