last lift question from me

ok so i have been doing an assload of research and how about this...if i get the RE 4.5" with the cv driveshaft, sye and lets say 31's, will i need to buy ANYTHING else or will it perform and work forever (not literally forever) and if so let me get this straight, with the 4.5, sye and cv and 31's i wouldnt have to buy any adapters, other kits, parts ANYTHING...just install the lift/shaft/sye and adjust the spedometer and im done right? anything i should worry about or anything?

also im not very michanically inclined, i have a few friends who know a thing or 2 about cars but have never done a lift or lowering so my question i guess is how hard is it to do and whatnot...is it basically take one part out put in the new just make sure ya do it in a certain order kinda thing like i think it might be? if its that i think i can do it.

you will need new shocks also, installing it is relatively simple, a backyard mechanic will do fine. i would also reconsider and maybe get a 32's or 33's instead of the 31's

If you can turn a wrench you can install a lift. Yes, it will take more time to do it f you've never doe anything big, but it's worth the time. Arrange to have a alternative form of transportation until the lift s completed.

Study, study, study as much info as you can online. Read the instructions over and over again for a day or two before starting. Take an inventory of ALL the parts in the kit. Copious amounts of PBblaster on ALL nuts and bolts to be loosened or removed.

Take your time!

Sounds good. Only thing that you did not mention was shims. No big deal. But you will need to rotate your pinion to be directly inline with your driveshaft. Probably the hardest thing to install that you have listed is the SYE. I had a couple problems with mine, just take you time, and before you take everything apart make sure u studied how it goes back together. Sounds like a good setup though. I would try to go bigger than 31's though. Heres a pic of mine w/ rusty's 4.5" lift and 33's

Lol i see this jeep in almost any post talking about lifting, haha (show offffffff) jk man im sitting in clas sand bored so i figured id comment on how often i see it, lol nice jeep though. But back on topic i would definetly go with 32's or 33's, and the install wont be to hard. I would recomend buying yourself an xoy map torch, or a prpane torch, or any source of hot hot heat. BEcasue with my jeep i had to heat the old eye bolts on the leafsprings out, and use a 3 foot breaker bar. you can go to any home depot and pick up an oxy map torch for 50 bucks. To me it was worth every penny and PB blaster is a great investment.

First off, you''l be able to install it, just get a friend to help, especially if he/she has some knowledge......

CHECK LIST:
-You will get FREE shocks form RE dealers. Doestch Tech....
-Definitely run 33s, they fit best with the 4.5", but you will have to trim a little
-fender flares if you want or have to (the law in your state?)
-don't forget the actual wheels....I would go with black steel cragars or rock krawlers...they run like 35$ a piece from Quadratec.com
-RE 4.5" lift "superflex"
-CV shaft and SYE
-Shims for rear axle (these are little angles pieces of metal which go under your rear leaf springs to help driveshaft angle) order seperately (around $20 from RE).
-PB Blaster
-Basic tool set
-saw zaw or grinder for trimming
-brake fluid to bleed brakes after....
-torque wrench if you want....
-two jack stands, one jack

^^pretty complete list for your install I think......

FYI, after a few months of driving 33s with stock gearing, you'll probably want to go to 4.56s assuming you have an Auto....total parts and install for front and back will run you $800 bucks....
For the record, I drove around with my 3.55s on 33s for a while, and didn;t mind it so much, but it sure is nice to have stock power back again!!

Good Luck

I would have several concerns not discussed yet...

What would the SYE (Hack/Tap) and CV DS run for 2000 Cherokee?

Just got lifted today and already tired of the slight vibration from 25-35 LOL!

EDIT: Is this a good setup?

A/A SYE & Tom Wood CV Driveshaft
Code: AACOMBO1
Price:$480.00

Get an Advance Adapters Slip Yoke Eliminator Kit along with a Tom Woods CV Driveshaft for one low price. This is for a 231 transfer case.
