Just replaced my parking brake lever.
The release button on my old one shot off so I went and pulled one off at a junkyard. The dealer wanted $90 for the whole lever assembly and I got mine for $15 bucks plus a rear-defog switch.
The whole process went pretty easily. Took me around 2 hours at moving at a slow pace and trying to analyze what exactly I had to do. I removed the passenger seat for access, took off the center dash bezel, then I followed the instructions on the full service manual. -Remove center console -Release parking brake -Remove adjusting nut from the tensioner rod at the equalizer The FSM says to raise the vehicle when taking off the nut on the tensioner rod underneath but I didn't find it necessary. After fidgeting around trying to get the center console out all I had to do was unbolt the 3 bolts holding the lever assembly, pinch the 3 clips holding the cable in the lever, and disconnect the parking brake lamp wire and that was it. Reassembly was a piece of cake and don't forget to adjust the brake. I hope this lever won't shoot off the button like my last one. I would have taken pics but if you have access to the FSM it's pretty straight forward. Well worth saving $180.
