just bought a 2000, heater will not turn off

whats goin on guys, i just recently bought a blue 2000 xj, and i got it for a steal heres the problem, when i turn the switch with red and blue on it to change from hot to cold, it feels as though it moves too easy, no matter what i set it on a/c, heat hot, cold, it still only blows hot air, what could be the problem, if anyone knows or has experienced this i would apreciate it if you all chimed in thanks a lot guys... wesley dean

You have a vacuum leak somewhere. Check all the lines and canister for wear/holes etc

If his actual switch feels broken, that could be the problem too I would think. Turning easy may mean the actual knob has separated from what it turns. Pop the big trim/bezel off of there and take a look at it.
