On to trimming the front fenders. So I like the stock look of the flares and wanted to retain the stock look while still having enough room to stuff the 33's.....I searched high and low for a good write up...surely this has been done with good results.......and it has!

A huge thanks and shout out to Nick Green, NAXJA memeber "53GUY" for doing it write with a great write up. If anyone wants to do the same here's his write up.

Once again, I'll spare you the details.....
The flare taped into place for fitment......

Draw a line around the top, so you know where you wanted it.....Mark where your flares new mounting holes will be......Drill, making sure not to drill a hole in your windshield washer resivoir.

Test fit the hardware to make sure your holes were good.....

Cut. I used a 4" grinder with cut off wheel...took about 38 seconds

Wallah. Minor trimming of the flare bottom was needed to fit flush against the fender.

Now, I also wanted to re-use the inner wheel well liner.......it took a little doing...but I managed to get them trimmed down and in using all stock fasten points minus 1 or 2 that were cut off because of the custom bumper.

Fnished! I think it turned out great. I haven't flexed her yet to double check for rubing but the 33x10.50's fit in more snug the my 32x11.50's

I also got my CROK bumper on......still need to do some minor trimming to get the rear wells to fit flush...but this is where it stands right now.

I also spent some time trying to get my pre-97 gas tank skid to fit the 2000. No dice. I cut about 8" off the front of the skid and it still won't fit. I diod notice the post97 tanks fit more snug to the XJ, better departure angle for sure.

That's one CLEAANNN Jeep... I really like the look of the Flares and wrap around rear bumper. You have a link to the bumper?
Cheers.

What flares did you use? How did you paint them?

Edit: Looks like stock flares, but did they get painted?

Yep, stock flares. HomeDepot Semi-gloss black.

Inspiring

My 'Jeep Week' is next week: http://www.jeepforum.com/forum/f177/check-out-my-pile-craigslist-749642/

I've never had a jeep week before, I'm pretty excited. Any advice?

Mine will be entirely non-technical, by the way. I will post before and after pictures, and pretend that no work actually happened to get the jeep into post-jeep week condition. Mostly I will brag about the killer deals I found on parts on craigslist. In fact, I think my new jeep will be named craig.
