Jeep Wave vs. Horn Cuss-Out

I just found out in the general forum about the jeep wave. It is very interesting and I will try it. For personal reasons, I am in an awful mood and my patience is very low when on the city streets so I usually end up cussing at a driver with the horn (a mexican thing) for a dumb little reason and end up regretting it afterwards. Do any of you guys have this type of quirk? As you can see below, I don't yet know my Cherokee very well and I have not yet taken it off-road. I bet I will be able to deal with my stress by going into the dunes over here.

Unfortunately, the Jeep Wave only works for Wranglers. Cherokees aren't in the club. We don't get props for having Cherokees...only the Wranglers.

I've found the Jeep Wave works if you have made noticeable modifications to your rig. I've waved and gotten return waves from other modified XJs and even a CJ. If there is nothing that stands out on your jeep, chances are the other guy isn't looking at you and doesn't see your wave. When I was stock, I waved but most people that saw it were probably just the average shmuck that doesn't know what owning a Jeep is all about. They just gave me a "do I know you?" kind of blank stare.

One big exception is on the trail. Around here everyone waves and it doesn't matter what you are driving. I think half of it is because they are being nice, and the other half is being cautious because they don't know if your packin' or not

Since we lifted, we do get lots of stares, and Wrangler drivers will look over and give a nod, but we haven't tried the wave. When I drive it (Mary), guys will pull up next to me glance and then turn back like "what the heck are you doing driving that?!" kind of look on their faces.
There's not a lot of trails nearby, but I did notice at Camp Jeep last year...everyone was waving to everyone! I suppose mwe could get our fix there. <img border="0" title="" alt="[Wink]" src="wink.gif" />
