Itermittent AC - anyone gone through this and have a solution?

I've seen a lot of forums with great advice out there for what seems to be a common problem with XJs: intermittent AC.

My XJ suffers from this as well. AC blows cold for a while, then it dies out and blows warm/humid air. This problem seems to be more noticeable in traffic than on the highway.

Anyway, I've seen a bunch of forums with advice going in different directions ... recharge the refrigerant (which I've done), check the compressor, etc.

What I'd like to know is, has anyone else out there actually fixed this problem? If so, what steps did you take to fix it? Unfortunately from the posts I've read there aren't many that list the actual solution that worked for them.

Thanks everyone for reading!

Check the air gap on the A/C compressor clutch.
