iPod needs a home

Well I recently added an auxiliary line to the back of my head unit so I can play and charge my iPod, however, I cannot find a good home for the cable or ipod. Right now it runs along the driver-side of the center console and stops about halfway leaving me with the cup holders and under the ebrake to store the ipod which is annoying. I refuse to go with the glove box as its to far a reach while driving to scan the ipod for desired tunes.

Any remedies for the problem?.. good mounting/storage spots?

Tried velcroing my Zune to the clock area to the right of the wheel and the left of the comfort controls... You know- that useless panel on your dash... That is of course, if you have an older style XJ. If it's the new style, then I have no clue.

maybe u could run it to the glove box or something and have it in there. or even run it to the center console. my mom's infiniti has the Ipod in there (but you can navigate the ipod on the touch screen)

you could even run to sit on the glass face of the dash,

just some ideas

It's not the best picture but you can kinda see behind the steering wheel where I have my ipod holder mounted. It's screwed in to that area just under where most people have a clock (mine dosen't). I like it there, you can see the display easily and it's right there for borwsing.
The mount was cheap on ebay.

yellow dashed line is where my cables run...

I mounted the mount in my center console. I just used velcro to secure it. I then drilled a hole in the center console insert to run the wires under the center floor console to the cigarette adapter I spliced in behind the dash console. This provides the power. I then simply used a cassette adapter in the radio. I actually removed the faceplate of the radio and inserted the cassette and then place the faceplate over it. This makes it look as if there is no cassette in the player and hides the wire running to the power adapter.

I have used this setup for about 3 years and it works great. The Ipod is still easy to control in the center console and it also remains hidden.

i would try and do something with the armrest. specifically making some kind of mount for the underside of the armrest lid. I know with my 92 the underside of lid is recessed and I'm pretty sure that my 98 my wife had was too.
the wires could be run under the console and then ran to the lid from there.
