go to the JY, grab a 8.25 out of a 96+ XJ and regear it while its not under your jeep. You will end up with a much stonger axle and you will save money with the install because it is not under your jeep.

SEARCH works well, Google does too. -
. http://www.jeepforum.com/forum/showthread.DANA-35-rebuild . http://www.differentials.com/install.html http://www.ringpinion.com/HowTo.aspx You will probably need a new carrier for 4.10's, they won't fit on a carrier for 3.55's

I pretty much have the same opinion as the others, but if you are dead set on building your D35, I personally would do it this way:
Buy another D35 to use as your build up mule. Do the gear install and swap it in. If it blows up then you can put your old axle back in. You can find D35's for around $100 sinse no one really wants them. Hell, buy a dirty nasty, high miles one and rebuild it. Get a master install kit and axle bearings and it will be good as new. Geras are tricky business. That's why shops can charge $300-400 an axle. Read, read, and reread the install procedures. Take the stock pinion bearing out and have it milled out enough so it slides onto the new pinion, but is tight. This will help you when you are figuring out the corrcet amount of shim to use.
