You luck bastard.... I want those so bad
They were power slide and tilt, manual recline. I was happy to get the manual recline ones cause I know for a fact as of now nobody has a solution to get the electric slide to work unless you can get your hands on power XJ hardware. I just reused my manual sliding hardware from the XJ cloths and so I have manual sliding and recline seats and I'm not too bothered by it at all. Heated would be SO nice but thats one luxury I can't afford haha. I might do an aftermarket heated seats kit eventually we'll see

eh, I never had heated seats and power seats just seem like more of a pain than they're worth to me. I actually wish I had manual windows and locks as well Then maybe I could get my window up and down to hand over my id at the gate instead of having to open my door

I beg to differ about windows and locks. I love my auto window haha. And if I have people in the car, which I usually do, it would be annoying to go around and lock/unlock each door to let people in. Plus my viper works well with the auto locks

I don't lock my doors in the first place and the windows are really the only ones that bother me and that's just because I jacked them up and now NONE of them work It WAS just the driver's window until I tried to "fix" them

Ok... I am digging this thread back up, so I can take it back to the OHC's... I got the one pictured below plus the 2 dome lights all for $14 today!!!! And I didnt pull harness's... I just had to cut them off, cause the only tools I had with me was a phillips head and pocketknife.

It came out of a Chrysler T&C minivan!!! and it looks just like the XJ one pictured already in this thread.

I am just curious if the OHC has all the electronics it needs besides the temp sensor, in order to do compass and possibly anything else? or is that something that would have to come from the XJ's computer?

If it wont work, I dont care... I'll put switched up there or somthing... And I need to figure otu what I can do with the left and right vent window switches that are in the OHC... SURELY I can find something to power with them.

The only difference I see are the 2 extra switches for (I presume) the rear windows in the Caravan.

As for electronics, I bet that they are the same, with potentially different wiring harness (maybe)?

Anyone know better than I do on this? I still have mine in the garage awaiting installation. I could take a few pics of the back side of the console for you to compare?

Sigh

my 99 xj that jsut got totalled has one of these, yes the van one has extra buttons by the sunglasses part, yes they are impossible to find, they jsut mount up into holes in the headliner on hte back(slide in, maybe see if you can find some picks or a headliner with teh cutouts to look at) and the fronts screw in where the visors clip in, the "new" 94 I just picked up also has this feature but only has the temp and blank screens, does anybody know if they had the dte and other stuff on these older models? I thought about salvaging the one from my old xj but progreseive tod me I couldn't unless I put something in its place. It is wrapped in camo anyway I redid the whole headliner roof console and visors in mossy oak! looked good. I miss it.

thanks Gman, but unless you could tell me which wires go to the main power and temp/compass, I dont think a pic of the back would help me too much. I've still got to go back and get the actual temp sensor, so hopefully the wire will be the same as the plug for the OHC.

If I could only get temp to work, then I'd still be happy with it... I'll try out the connections to make sure I can get it to work before I install it... and who actually owns sunglasses THAT small???

this is SO true, none of my sunglasses have fit into there until now. Finally I found a pair of sheriff-looking aviators that fit perfectly so I said, hell why not! I think they designed it with the model of reading/driving glasses though because the ones with thin frames that fold flat work fine. They did fix this in the new WKs though, my friends glasses compartment is much better designed. Way to go chrysler

I plan on keeping my reading/computer glasses in there cause I only wear them at work anyway...

I just need the time to get it installed... Anyone have a pic of this "bracket" everyone talks about? I am assuming it is for the rear, since the front screws to the visor locations

I'm not feeling into dropping the console right now haha but basically it mounts the exact same way as the old dome light bracket and its in the middle sorta because the front is held on by visor screws as you said and back is held on by a plastic "fork" almost that slips between roof and healdiner

^ ok, the OHC has the "fork" on it already... but I thought there must ahve been somthing else rigid to hold the rear of the OHC? or does it ONLY hang on the headliner? This would answer a big quesiton I have with this install...

BRad... I will take some pics of mine, harness, bracket and the headliner template the PO sent me along with my console (so grateful he did that). I will also find the thread with the wiring diagram I saw on here a few months ago.

I am going to do a full install thread...if I ever get around to or get time to actually install mine!! lol

Gman.. If you dont already have those pics, dont take them just for me... I got mine installed last night (but not wired). The front screwed directly in place of the old visor clips, and the back only required a slit of about 1" x 4"...

I will take it all back down this weekend and get the lights and temp sensor wired. But will need the most help figuring out what wires perform which functions. the lights are plugged to the main display, then the bigger harness goes out to the jeep, so some of the wires have to be for lights as Ground, Constant Hot, and Door Open Hot, I just dont know which ones... I thought about just using the light wiring that is already up there, but would rather keep the OHC wiring as intact as possible.

Measure Twice, Cut once... too bad I didnt do it that way.... my first slit in the back was too far back...
EDIT... I just noticed the built XJ through the windsheild.... looks like a long arm kit too...
