Installed Firepower Ignition kit today

After a week of waiting I recieved and installed the Firepower Ignition kit from Performance Distributors today on my 96' cherokee. I also replaced my Bosch +4's with a set of champion truck plugs gapped to .060. So far I can't tell a difference in power which disappointed me because the kit was $180. I don't know if it changed my gas mileage yet. I just filled up today and I will post any increase when I fill up the next time. Intallation wasn't to bad. Changing the coil was a bit of a pain. I had to remove the ground wires and the whole bracket its bolted to because I couldn't get to the coil's bolts. With the right tools installation takes about an hour. All other replies about this kit welcome!

Well I certainly hope you see some gains. I just upgraded the ignition coil and it didn't do a single thing except make the engine bay look a little cooler if you looked down in that little crack that no one sees. No gas mileage and no power. Best of luck to you. Let us know how it turns out.

The stock coil works pretty well. The aftermarket coils "should" give a little better mpg, only because in theory it gives a more complete burn. You should notice a smoother idle and like I said, "slightly" better mpg.

Don't throw away your factory coil. Keep it as a spare. When my Accel coil crapped out, I was glad I kept the stocker!

I didn't notice much from my Firepower ignition kit either, except plugs tend to stay cleaner now.
