Really helpful write up. I'm new to the XJ and just figured a rough idle was something I'd have to take for granted but this is super helpful and makes it easy for a noobie! Thanks a ton

This isnt the only thing that could cause idling problems. I had no idle problems even with a leaking injector, my idle probs were from melted and broken O2 sensor wiring.

I swear that earlier this week Five0 had Bosch injectors for our stock 4.0 engines for $46.....Can't seem to find them now.

Anyone know where to buy more or have any experience with the Bosch from FiveO?

First page listed on google when I searched "Bosch fuel injectors jeep Cherokee". I think they were third down on the page. $46 per injector

Holy...Google gets me there, eventhough I was at fiveO and did a manual search. Very interesting!

thanks Jeepinphily.

Notice the site keeps referencing it as a "set"? seems too cheap to be $46 for all 6, seems to expensive for one.
I will call them later this week.

Great write-up, changed my 2000 XJ's a few weeks ago, idle and acceleration have improved, but I needed to reset the PCM as suggested. That solved the MIL from coming on, but after a week of driving I've been having difficulty starting after it's been driven and parked for a few hours. Has anyone else experienced starting problems? To get it started I have to pump the gas pedal while turning the key. Could this be related to injector #3 need a heat shield? I had to replace the fiber tubes and used the old ones after the swap.

See if swapping the old ones back one at a time helps... Doesn't sound like a heatsoak issue if its just long to crank, heatsoak would cause it to like sputter start almost
