You used petroleum jelly on the o rings? Generally that's not a wise idea on rubber parts. The same reason you are not supposed to use it with condoms.

Everywhere I've read says to lube them with some 10w30.

18.75mpg average with 235/75R15 M/T tires, hacked front facia, and 300# of tools in the back....not too bad for a 248,000 mile Cherokee.

I did this back in May. I was driving back and forth from MD to OH and needed the MPG.

I drive a 94 XJ 4.0 5 spd. with 160K on the clock.

My last trip I averaged 25.75 MPG. I have pics of the trip odometer and gas pump to prove it!

HUGE. Seriously injector o-rings are cheap as hell from your local auto parts store. Fel-Pro ES70599 (also listed as FPES70599).

My writeup shows exactly how to replace them - should take all of about 15 minutes with a basic socket set.

Gasoline is petroleum based, makes sense to use the jelly. Fuel system o-rings are petro resistant.

I installed the Ford 5.0 injectors on my '90 about a month ago. I averaged 19.7 mpg on a trip from Atlanta to Savannah, about 250 miles. An average mph of 75-80 and my cracked exhaust manifold didn't help the mpg's at all though.

Great write up.

Yes those will work

Here's a pretty complete list of options for anyone interested, as well as what is needed to make them work in some cases

i order my rebuild kits from a guy on bonanza - I think his username is turboparts
[edit: i was right - http://www.bonanza.com/listings/BOSC...-CYL/42334375]

The 703s are usually in 95-97 neons, but it's hit or miss. You need to make sure the number on the side is correct.

This is the engine you're looking for (or at least the one I've found them in)
