Which injector is #3?

I have the occasional warm start stumble that apparently has a fix by creating a heat shield sleeve on the #3 injector.

Looking in the engine bay from the front of the vehicle, which injector is the #3 injector?

That is a factory recall. Take it to the dealer and get her fixed for free.

It's not a recall a TSB is what it is and they are only covered under the provisions of the warranty. The number 3 injector is the third one from the front of the engine as the first cylinder is number one and so on.

So the one closest to the passenger seat? Looking in the engine bay from the front they go - #1 near left, #2 near right, #3 back left, #4 back right?

In line engines count cylinders going from the front towards the back to the flywheel. So, a #3 cylinder is the third one back from the fan.

Just for grins, if you haev a Performance shop around you, look into a small section of header wrap or header insolation and try using that. If it works you'll be a hero! If it doesn't, then at least we will know.

Sorry, my ******* post above probably didn't help - it's a 4.0 inline six - 2000 Cherokee.

if it's an inline six, all of the injectors are on the left side (driver side) of the engine. the #3 injector, as stated above, is the 3rd one from the front of the engine. example, the injector closest to the radiator hose is #1, the one beside that is #2 and the one beside that is the magical #3!!
