ignition issue - engine won't shut off

I have the ignition issue in my Jeep. turning it off, the engine would not shut off. I had that problem the day after I bought it (already knew there was an issue as well as an old battery). I had the repair shop replace the ignition system as well as the battery.

so the weekend went by without a hitch, then today, twice I had to get out and pop the hood to unplug the ignition wiring to shut the engine off. I don't want to be doing this every time.

I'm not much of a mechanic but I can change a few things if I know what I'm doing.

any help and advice will be much appreciated.

cheers.

Did you tell the shop to replace the Ignition System, or did you tell them the problem?

If you told the shop to replace the Ignition System, what did they replace? I'm guessing Cap? Rotor? Wires? Plugs?

Or the Key & Tumbler? I'm guessing either a bad Key/Tumbler or actuator? Its inside the steering column, under the dash, or at least some where in that area if I remember correctly.

I'm thinking you are going to need to get a wiring diagram & trace wires to see if something is not completing / completing a circuit for the Ignition Tumbler.
