IAC Motor?

Does anyone know what an IAC Motor is or what it does? I am getting one installed in my jeep right now. I was also wondering how much it would cost. The reason i am getting this IAC Motor is because my engine dies when it is hot and starts only when it is cool.

Thank You,
Sam Adams

Idle Air Control motor! It controls the air flow into the engine.

for cost comparison purposes only, autozone.com shows one for 95 Cherokee for $29.95, but its a Wells brand. I don't trust Wells parts, try to find a Borg-Warner or a Standard.
