I swear I searched...need TCase drop bolt size and a little help, pronto!
I've been all over the google and the forum and what-not. I can't find a definitive answer. I want to get a TCase drop done this weekend...I have made spacers, and I bought bolts, but I didn't realize that there's nut inserts up there in the frame rail. Should have asked first.
I have one nut and one bolt head looking at me...I guess that means one is a post threaded into the threaded hole in the subframe? Getting that out is easy enough... I bought nuts and bolts thinking that I was replacing everything, but they're not metric, and the threads don't match... So, what is the bolt size? I assume they're metric? I got length figured out, I just need the width/thread count.

Take one of your nut's off and take it somewhere and have it's thread's matched.

When you make the change, do ONE SIDE AT A TIME. If you take the bolts out of both sides at the same time you will have a hard time getting the cross member lined up with the holes again.

Thanks for the help and advice guys. I made the spacers out of 1.25"x2.25" inch rectangular steel tubing. Some flat black krylon and I'm good to go... I don't think my local Ace has metric stuff
I'll have to try someplace else. I went in there with one of the bolts the first time and couldn't find anything that I could thread it into...Quote:
Thanks again ![]()

Found some at Napa Auto...did the drop last night. Thanks guys. They are 10mm, for future reference. The dumb posts came out with vice grips and patience.
BUT the stock ones seem slightly tapered or something... could just be bad threads, but a 10mm nut with what has to be the right thread count threads on to the stock bolt easily, but gets really tough to thread at about 1/2 way...way after it would get difficult if the threads were wrong. Weird. Anyway, the new bolts threaded in to the frame rail fine...a bit tight, but that's probably just some gunk in the threads. Haven't driven on it yet...rode my bike to work. I'm hoping it kills my little vibes.
