How to remove the trim around the radio and HVAC switch cluster?

Like many of those on this forum, the heater blower has stopped working on my 2000 Cherokee Ltd. Bad timing considering the mini-ice age we seem to be going through this winter. In my research from previous threads leads me to believe that either the 4-speed switch is bad (it doesn't blow at the highest speed so its not likely the resister) or the blower motor. There was an excellent thread on how to replace the blower so I good to go there. What I can't figure out though is how to remove the switch, or more specifically, how to remove the trim around the radio and switch cluster so that I can get to the switch. Neither my Childers or Haynes manual gives me a clue. Can anyone tell me how to get the trim off without tearing everything up?
Thanks.

I have a 97 so unless its different all you do is gently pull out sarting at the bottom. Grab on both sides at the bottom and pull. There are spring clips on the bottom, middle and top that hold it in. They can be very tough if you have never had it out before. Then the climate control is held in by screws but you will see that.

There are four tabs holding than piece on, one in each corner.
Simply grab the trim piece on each side of the heater controls and gently pull.
The more you do this the easier it becomes (for better or worse :-/)

It should be able to pop right off with a little force from the bottom, thats what I did in my 99, and even in my friends 98 neon.

And like stated above, everything is held in with screws
