If you are not set on th E-locker. To get the most strength out of your Dana 44 I would get:

Super 44 Kit with detoit locker $1045.00 or with ARB $1145.00
http://www.ok4wd.com/index.php/catal..._super_44_kit/
Includes: Detroit Locker, 33 Spline axle shafts, Axle Bearings, Backing plates, axle seals, and retainers
Gear set up: (Gears and install kit) $250.00
Gear oil and diffcover sealant: $40.00

So from $1330.00 to $1430.00 you can have one of the strongest dana 44 rear axles without going totally custom and build a 35 splined 44.

Prices can be cheaper if you shop around or ask for a package deal.

30 splined vs. 33 splined

Next weak link would be the axle tubes. Simple truss would keep it staright and tighten it up.

Personally for the 33-35's (max 35's) I just want alloy 30 splines and keep my stockers for spares.

Not sure which locker to get. Considering the ECTED.
