How much longer...

I have a 1989 Cherokee limited 4.0 with 192000 miles on it. How much longer can my baby survive? How many more miles? Whats the highest you've heard of?

I wanna keep my Cherokee for as long as i can...

If you keep up on basic maintenance, she'll go past 350k. Don't be suprized if you need to rebuild, but thats just an excuse to stroke it

from some of the other mileage posts i've read, thats just past the breakin period. i think you gonna have to worry about the body rotting away before you have to worry about the engine going. just keep up with the maintinence and it should live for a long time.

Take it to a shop and have a compression test done to all the cylinders. If they are in good shape and you doi a tune up and keep on top of everything it will last awhile.

If this is a "new" XJ to you, then I would recommend a little overhaul and replace things like the serp belt, rad hoses, Tstat, fan clutch, plugs/wires, and ign cap/rotor.
