how many quarts of oil

Hey, i have a 1998 xj with the 4.0 L how many quarts of oil do I put into the jeep when I cahang the oil, 6 quarts, or 5

my 99 4.0L takes 6 quarts

My 99 took 6, the haynes manual said 5, I bought 6 just in case and I'm glad I did.

Yeah my with my 99 I put 5 and 3/4 quarts in. That puts me right at the top of the 'safe' line.

My '94 takes 6 quarts. I think the manual says 5 but 6 seems to be better.
