he took the design of the rails he bought and modified them and made a jig to make more. He bought them so he could she how they were made and how he should design his. His jig is a modified version of the ones he purchased.

We all take things and make them better or look at other designs and try to make them better to suit our needs. He has made some with his jig. So his are a modifaction of the ones he bought I see nothing wrong with that.

And also with the header Adam bought one to see how it was made a manufactured. This guy has been making custom headers on BMW's and didnt know how to do the 3-1 one design on the XJ headers. Excuse me but if i find a need in the market and use someone else peice as a reference I think nothing worng of it.

Nate
Yeah reverse engineering should be encouraged..

That would be like me saying I could build an electron microscope, but i bought another one, moved the knob from the left to the right, and changed the color, and then sold it for more $$.. yeah, I built an electron microscope and that makes me a fabricator.

That's the thing -- there is not a need in the market. If he was really trying to benefit the community and his "friends" in the club, he should have pointed them towards the original producer and save them some money. Instead, he purchased these rock rails, acted like they were his own and took all the credit, and then finally tried to sell them for more.

Edit: It is fantastic that you are here defending him. But, I, and I am sure everyone else, would like to hear from him personally. Banning other members of your club from the club's forum is not the appropriate way to handle such a situation.

Nate

That whole post on the rails is full of lies. He simply posted pics of someone elses work and claimed it as his own. Read the threads! There is a reason there were no construction pics.

Whether or not he made a jig from them is irrelevant. It was dishonest and wrong to do what he did.

As for the headers. If he made them himself, why did he find it necessary to delete the posts that called him out on it? He could have simply said he used them for a jig. Instead, he covered it up and banned people from his site. There is something wrong there.

Even if he does make his own 'headers' or his own ****ing rocker rails, he still didn;t do anything himself. he took a design from someone else, so he isn't creative in the least bit.

He sucks. Face it.

I should clarify that I was banned from the site after I emailed him telling him I didn't want to be part of a club that supports lying. The next day my IP address was banned from the site.

He didn't try to explain anything. He just accepted it. Something is fishy.
