Well.. I have a little beef about what has been said on this thread by the thread originator (Adam Hansen).

My name is Jon Heikka and I run Ohana Fab in Denver, Colorado. I can be contacted via email at jonheikka@comcast.net.

We've been making these sliders for some time now selling many via ebay, CraigsList and even more to local buyers. Adam bought a set from us in April and they were delivered to him via UPS on 4/14/06.

Before he took delivery on 4/14, he apparently started a thread over on what we believe may be "his" website (GreatLakesXJ). The day he received "our" rails, he posted up a pic of the drivers side claiming he had finished them. The pic he posted still has my hand writing visible on the tube marking it as the Drivers side... That thread is full of false information indicating he's at this stage of the build, his round tube came in, he has to go pick up bolts, etc.... Zero progress pics though since.... Hmmmm. And Adam, they came with bolts, you didn't have to go get some. Your pics clearly show that it's the same bolts we use.

I was unaware of Adam's scam or the greatlakesXJ site until yesterday evening when a cpl of rather standup guys that I've never met put two and two together and shot me an email with the link to the greatlakesxj site. I checked it, confirmed their suspicions and sent Mr. Hansen an email (no response yet - and I doubt I'll receive one). I later received another note pointing me to this site where the same scam was being replicated.

Now, it could be viewed as a compliment and I really have no problem with someone copying your work on a small, non-commercial scale but I think it's rather reprehensible to use the exact same set you bought from us only to claim them as your own creation and then set it up to charge everyone higher prices.

My advice to others out there who may be considering dealing with this fellow is to exercise caution: He's actively misrepresenting our product as his with the stated intent of entering into production.

Again, many thanks to the two guys that stepped forward to let us know.

Mr Hansen: shame on you.

Jon

Edit: fixed typo's......

Wow. Either that is 100% legit and 'Mr Hansen' got ****ing own3d so hardcore it boggles my mind or you are just making that **** up. But right now I'm leaning towards 'Either that is 100% legit and 'Mr Hansen' got ****ing own3d so hardcore it boggles my mind'.

Well, he apparently received my email as he's banned my IP from the forum section of his board (dangit, and I was hoping to learn something from his fabrication writeups...)

And needless to say I didn't receive an apology (suprise-O-rama)

Ya'll have a nice day. You have my email and can find me on ebay as well as bullet13

Thanks again to the standup guys who found the scam and said something about it. I'm happy to say that the majority of the wheelin' world has that character and more than makes up for the few that can be real clowns.

Jon
