Home made roof rack?
Im thinkin of makin my own roof rack out of squared steel tubing. Can anyone tell me some dimensions that I can go by? Thanks!

the best way is to measure your roof, and make it to what you like. just decide $what will go up there, and plan accordingly.

I just made one this weekend with 1" square tubing. It is 60" long X 45" wide X 5" tall. Looks great, now I just need to paint it and mount it.

Ugh, this thread just pisses me off, lol. I really want to make a mountaineer rack, but I can't find a local place that sells small amounts of steel. I know there are a bunch of websites, but I don't want to pay a ton for shipping.
