High Speed Shake (THE DEATH SHAKE)

When on the highway (mainly) if I hit certain bumps, the truck starts to shake violently. I replaced the steering stabalizer/damper, and it reduced the shaking, but it is still there. I put new coils in the front, and added a leaf in the rear to give a 2" lift all around. When it happens the only way to make it go away is to slow down to around 60km/h, then speed up again..Any ideas of what this could be?

it could be a broken belt in the tire, or bushings may be worn out. im not for sure though. mine was a broken belt in the tire on my TJ

Skippy - I've had the same troubles. It could be a combination of things. The dampner will only absorb some of the shake, it won't cure it, I replaced my too in hopes it would help. Check out this post for more info:

Have the tires checked for balance. Then check the Trac-bar for looseness.

HAVE AN ALIGNMENT DONE! Any lift will change the geometery of the suspension, even if it's ever so slight, this could be what is causing it to happen.

I replaced, repaired, and verified my entire front end to get rid of my DW (Death Wobble) and it ended up being the alignment.
