I was driving around town today and went to roll my driver side window up...i heard a pop and then the window slid down and vanished. I could not get it to go back up. So once I got home, I took the door panel off and now im totally lost. Does anybody know how power windows work on a 98 cherokee sport?
Inside the door frame, you should find about 4 small wiring harnesses. 1 for each of the power door locks, power windows, power mirrors, and speaker. find a harness that goes inside the door all of the way to the bottom (you might need to get a 2x4 or something and prop the window up to get to it). the window motor will be a little bigger than a beer can and weigh around 5 pounds. Three or four bolts will have it out. The new one will cost around $50 or if you are lucky there is a removable gear set that'll run around $25.
