Help!! Found an XJ Need Help!

ok i have found an 01 XJ Limited for $4500. it has a lot of miles but is in good condition. it does have 168,000 miles. which i know is a lot but i talked with the former owner (story on that in a second) and he said they were all highway. he used it for work and because it was a company car he got free oil changes and tune-ups for free. so it was well maintained. he did not us the jeep for any kind of work just as transport.

I was looking at the jeep and found a faint outline of where letters used to be on the rear window. it was a company name with a phone number. so i called the number. the former owner answered and i asked him all kinds of questions. Sounds like it was taken really good care of.

Do you think thats too many miles for the price? is it worth getting an XJ with that many miles? How many more miles should i expect it to run before i need to do some major mechanical work?

It looks pretty good to me. It also looks lifted. It also has tow hooks. Id get it, if it was actually all highway miles, and if it was well maintained, you could get a lot of miles out of it.

Yep, I thought the same exact thing. It's a very sharp truck. I personally don't think its too bad for the price. It would have the 0331 head that is prone to cracking, but just keep an eye on the coolant level.

Most 0331 heads were used in 2000. But even if this one does have the 0331 head, they cracked around the 80-100k mark, and this one made it 168k, it probably wont crack.
