It starts there and moves towards the back of the engine about 3/4 to 1 inch. It wasn't pouring out but with the engine hot it bubbles out of the crack.

Losing pressure and antifreeze will cause your over heating. I'd see about getting it welded. Don't try to use sealant.

Yes it will. The cooling system is under pressure. A loss of pressure will lower the coolant's boiling point...

Do you know for sure the crack wasn't there the last time you took out the pump?

I don't know if it was there last time I took out the pump. But I took the pump to the parts store and it is in fact the correct pump. I am going to see about getting it welded...but if all else fails maybe a 4.6 stroker swap?????
