headliner

I am installing me new headliner today and wiring my CB above my rear view for a semi look. So heres the deal. Theres the layer of fabric, glue, foam, glued to the shell board. My shell is very very thin. Do i need to get a new piece of foam also? I dont see how the shell would keep its shape with no foam left on it. Any help is great. Im in the middle of it right now so the sooner the responses the better ha.

If the foam is coming off with the old headliner , pull it off and remove all the old foam (not hard) and replace foam with new material, It will look a lot better.

I'm in the process of doping the same thing. Use a plastic brush to brush the foam off the headliner.

Only issue I'm facing now is wether or not the 3M 77 stuff will work of if I will need something stronger.

FYI the fabric store down the street from me had the headliner material that has the built in foam.

So i went to the junk yard today and got a smoking deal. I got a 2000 XJ limited head liner and overhead counsel for 30 bucks. Also got the dark gray leather seats out of it for 100. So now i have to figure out how to install the overhead counsel.

Forgot to add that the drivers seat only tilts to a certain point then stops. Its still leaned to far back to sit in, kinda like they sit in the hood, but not as bad. Idk why it wont tilt up any further. Any ideas?

Well just used the old tilt on the old seat. Turns out the tilt was all bent up guessing from the accident? ha. Seats are in and looks much better. Next is my over head console.
