Have a leaky Injector, where do I find good, but economical, replacements?

Okay, just came back from Home Depot. On the way there I ran the vents and had a heavy gas smell. when I got home, popped the hood and #3 injector is leaking from the connection, not the seals.
Question 1: How soon till I go Kaboom?? or can I still drive it?
Question 2: Where do I get good, but inexpensive, replacements?
Question 3: Is bosch as bad as I hear for Jeeps?

A leaky injector on a 4.0 has the potential to go Kaboom pretty quick if gas hits the hot exhaust manifold. I'd fix this ASAP.

I take it you mean it's leaking where it connects to the fuel rail? Or do you mean the connection to the wire? If it's leaking at the rail, you may just need an O-ring. If it's leaking anywhere else, you need a new injector. Any auto parts store should have an OEM replacement, but injectors aren't cheap. You could also try a junkyard.

I've only heard about problems with Bosch and Jeeps on the Internet, and even then it's only relating to O2 sensors and spark plugs. As for injectors, I have no idea there.

they want around $75 a piece at the local auto parts store. I found 6 new 19lb injectors and o-rings on ebay for $50 and yes they are bosch. work just fine for me

i just had the same problem with mine on the #3 injector. i replaced the o-rings on all the injectors but the #3 still leaked. it was leaking at the top of the injector. the top of the big part like where it is made together. i had to replace the injector. i got a replacement for advance auto for 45.99. not too bad. what have you heard about bosch and jeeps??

The potential for an engine fire is so great when you have an injector leaking. You should replace it before you even consider driving it again.

Injectors 4, 5, and 6 were all leaking when I got my '87 XJ. Autozone had replacements (new) for me for $42/each.

My advice- Pick up an O-ring kit while you're there and replace the O-rings on all your injectors. You're going to have the fuel rail off anyway and it's a overlooked piece of maintenance. (Remember to dip the O-rings in clean engine oil before installing on the injector.)

UPDATE!!! I ordered the Injectors from Five-0 motorsports last monday, they arrived regular mail wednesday, I put them in Friday, and you were right, I ended up at the dealer for the fuel line o-ring kit for front and rear of fuel rail. But it was worth it @16.95 each to have no leaking from fuel line. Once put back together it runs smooth and is more responsive, I hope to see some improvements in mileage, but if not, I still am pleased with the overall response gain and smoother running. Not to mention, No KABOOM!!!
Thanks Guys!!

That's what I was going to recommend. The ford injector uses a different spray pattern that does well with the 4.0l.

By ford injector, did you mean the 24lb. Denso Blue Top injectors for the Ford Cobra that are listed under Jeep?

fiveomotorsport.com does seem to have a great price on them.

The ones I got were the Yellow tip 19lb ford injector. If you need injectors, FIve 0 is the way to go. I got mine two days after I ordered them (not overnighted, just regular shipping), thats CA to FL, all six for 178.10 shipping included. Not bad, definately well worth it.
